Ruach is a Hebrew word meaning the breath, wind, or spirit of God. Used throughout the Old Testament, it is commonly associated with giving life.
We believe that God has blown His breath (ruach) into the formation of this ministry, giving life to that which He has purposed to do His divine will.
"...I will put breath (ruach) in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord." Ezekiel 37:6b
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
About the Pastor
Rev. Denise R. Warren
Born and raised in Gary, IN, Rev. Denise Warren has always been active in the church. After giving her life to Christ at the age of 12, her ministry foundation was laid while serving in youth leadership positions at First A.M.E. Church throughout her childhood.
Moving to Minnesota after graduating from college, the Lord directed her to the Pastor who would become her spiritual father and mentor for more than 32 years, the Rev. Dr. Earl F. Miller. Under his leadership and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Warren's faith journey has led her to a place of confidence in trusting the Lord and becoming courageous in saying yes to His divine purpose. As a result, she has had the opportunity to serve in leadership roles in almost every area of the church.
A turning point in her journey was when she said yes to being called as a deacon more than 20 years ago. After serving for seven years, she said yes to God's call to preach and was licensed in 2001 and ordained in 2003 after the completion of an intense 2-year ministers' training and development program.
That yes then led to a period of preparation, struggle, and God's continued process of maturation and pressing for even more as He begin to expand her territory.
She has now become a sought after teacher; workshop and conference convener/speaker; and has had the opportunity to preach at churches both throughout MN and around the country.
After serving at Progressive Baptist Church for more than 25 years, she has said yes, once again. This time the Lord has given her a vision for planting a new church. She is boldly moving forward, stepping out on faith, and believing that God has prepared the way for His vision to be given life.
Rev. Warren invites you to join her on this journey to see what God has in store for those who trust, believe, and are obedient to His call!
God is doing a new thing...can you feel it??!!
